Social Media Detox Project: Day 17
Have you ever felt like social media is taking up too much of your time?Have you ever felt a weight pushing down on your mind after using social media for too long?
Have you ever said, “I should be writing” as you scroll through an endless Twitter feed?
Maybe you are looking for social connection.
The problem with social media lies in the fact that, for the most part, it is a shallow activity that takes a huge toll on our minds.
Ask yourself two questions:
1. Have you written today?
2. Have you logged onto Twitter today?
What I Did Today

Something I Read Today
“So often we avoid an action out of fear. We worry so much about getting it wrong that we don’t start at all. If you’re going to be creative, innovative, and do things you’ve never done before, it’s inevitable that you’ll get things wrong. But if you see failure as data rather than destiny, you’ll be free to keep moving forward.” -Srini Rao, “Speed of Execution and Bias Towards Action” from The Unmistakable Creative
Something I Learned Today
Taking action when things aren’t perfect is better than taking no action at all, because things will never be perfect.
